Cadarca is a traditional grape variety originating from the vineyards of Miniș-Măderat. The wine is produced with the addition of raisins and exhibits a color ranging from bright red to deep red. It possesses a distinctive aroma of fresh fruit, being robust, full, velvety, and at times, slightly acidic. It develops a complex bouquet after 2-3 years. Under raisining conditions, oxidative wines with clove aromas and a slightly astringent taste can be obtained. Typically, wines are produced with a lighter color, featuring a pleasant aroma of fresh fruit.
TASTING:
With its intense red color, this wine reveals a dominant bouquet of red fruits and raspberries. The taste is elegant, with flavors of black currants, a subtle spiciness, and discreet notes of pepper. Best enjoyed at 14-16°C, it offers a refined and nuanced wine experience, showcasing a harmonious blend of red fruit aromas and a slight peppery kick on the palate.

Description
Folklore Ursul Cadarca Red Wine
Taking place every winter in villages and cities in Romania’s eastern region of Moldova, the ‘Dance of the Bear’ symbolizes the death and rebirth of time. Performed between Christmas and New Year’s Eve, this ancient ritual brings together the whole community, who gather to watch the performance. For Geto-Dacians, ancestors of present-day Romanians, the bear was a sacred animal with healing powers. The life cycle of the bear was responsible for regulating seasons, entering hibernation before winter and waking up in spring.
